We come together to experience oneness with the elements and with the Earth. The Sweat Hut represents the womb of the Earth Mother.
Sweating as a physical and mental cleansing ceremony is an ancient practice found across every culture. Nixiwaka has been running Sweat Lodges since 1994. These 32 years of experience have shaped a ceremony that draws from Native American, Brazilian, Mexican, African, Tibetan, and Indian teachings into something wholly its own.

The Sweat Lodge, stones prepared, waiting for the fire
Each ceremony is held in four rounds, each one honouring a different element.
Grounding, foundation, the body. We enter the womb of the Earth Mother and begin.
Breath, prayer, song. The steam rises and the voice opens.
Transformation, purification, release. What no longer serves is offered to the flame.
Healing, flow, gratitude. We complete the circle and emerge renewed.
Nixiwaka, tending the sacred fire
Before anyone enters the lodge, the fire has already been burning for hours. The stones are placed and heated with great care — they carry the heat that will drive the steam, and with it, the transformation inside.
The Sweat Hut is revered as the symbolic womb of the Earth Mother. Inside, we are back in the womb, where we can experience the rebirth and release of those parts of ourselves that no longer serve our growth.
By doing these ceremonies together, we gently weave a web of connections between those present and all of our Relations, all of creation.
“Participating in such a ritual is an intimate adventure into our spiritual reality.”Nixiwaka
“When groups of people come together and focus their intent, it becomes a powerful and creative situation.”
“They are alive, they exist within the Earth and within us.”
The ceremony is held in four rounds, each honouring one of the four elements. Participants enter and exit between rounds as needed.
Shaped by teachings from Native American, Brazilian, Mexican, African, Tibetan, and Indian traditions over three decades.
Physical, emotional, and spiritual cleansing. The heat creates the conditions for deep release and renewal.
