Traditional Amazonian frog medicine · Purification of body, mind & spirit
The Medicine

Used for many generations by indigenous tribes of the Amazon, Kambo is one of the most powerful natural purifiers known to traditional medicine.

Kambo is the secretion from the glands of the Phyllomedusa bicolour, a giant monkey frog native to the Amazon rainforest. Indigenous tribes have used it for generations to treat malaria, infections, fevers, and snake bites, as well as to strengthen and purify warriors before hunts.

In recent years Kambo has gained recognition in the West as a powerful natural remedy, used to address depression, anxiety, addiction, and chronic pain. Many also work with it as part of a spiritual or shamanic practice, for its deep purifying and cleansing effects on the mind, body, and spirit.

Kambo application

Application — small points on the skin

A ceremony of radical honesty with the body.

The secretion is applied to small points burned into the top layer of skin. The medicine enters the lymphatic system rapidly, and the purge, physical, emotional, energetic, begins within minutes. The process is intense and brief, typically lasting 20 to 40 minutes.

Nixiwaka approaches Kambo with the same care and respect he brings to every ceremony, held in a safe container, with attention to preparation, intention, and integration before and after the experience.
